Tell Us A Story
“Tell Us A Story”, which has been exhibited at the New Bedford Art Museum, Roy G Biv Gallery, The Ohio State University, and the Richard Ross Museum of Art, facilitates the assembly of a physical library and digital archive of stories told by community members on video from inside a custom-made photo booth. Those who visit the gallery are endowed with agency to decide how they want to interact with the artwork; viewers may read stories written by other gallery visitors, write their own story and contribute it to the installation library, or record a story on video in a Photo Booth installed at the exhibition. These multiple entry points activate different modes of thinking in viewers, and promote deeper engagement as the artwork emphasize the significance of the viewer’s voice.
The exhibition also includes work by youth in the community who participated in a week long workshop focused on identity through story-telling. Through our artwork and outreach projects, The Page Collective is interested in building archives to draw attention to contemporary stories that are unheard, and the relationships that can be forged through the intimate and personal activity of sharing a story from one’s life.

Where We Left Off
The Page Collective’s project, Where We Left Off, encompasses a collection of bookmarked-books from The Fine Arts Library at The Ohio State University. “We searched the stacks to find bookmarks; the materials we discovered ranged from family photos to scraps of paper.” This project emphasizes what the patrons of the library find noteworthy, and the installation invites viewers to flip through the books and remark the pages.
